Born in Flowersview, Florida, “Bell” started her career in hospitality at a fast food chain restaurant frying chicken and making biscuits in DeFuniak Springs. Following that, Bell served at a grocery store for a short time before embarking on a journey to become a child attorney to help children. Bell studied criminal justice at Tallahassee’s Community College before transferring to Florida A&M University.
Returning to DeFuniak Springs to be closer to her family, Bell joined the team at The Bay restaurant as a dishwasher. It wasn’t long before her hunger for knowledge had her learning and mastering each culinary station, but she confesses that the most challenging station for her to learn at The Bay was the grill. She still feels a sense of pride and accomplishment when her steaks get sent out and don’t get sent back.
Bell says the key ingredient in cooking and also in life is patience. On a daily basis, although not practicing law, Bell strives to add value to her team with her attention to all the details, compelling arguments, and as a protector from the high-pressure kitchen by telling people not what they want to hear, but what they need to hear. You won’t catch her sharing the secret recipe for her special dressing, though.
When Bell isn’t at the restaurant, she enjoys spending time playing NBA 2K on the Xbox with her nieces and nephews, making them laugh, and generally having fun with friends and family.
